Eric C. Sharer, MPH, RD, CSO, CDN, is a Registered Dietitian (RD), Board Certified Specialist in Oncology Nutrition (CSO), Certified Dietitian-Nutritionist (CDN), culinary nutritionist, and owner of Sharing Nutrition, nutrition consulting and culinary nutrition services. Eric is dedicated to promoting and embracing the health benefits of a plant based diet for disease prevention, treatment, and the optimal health of his clients.
About Eric:
His passion for food and health began at the age of 13, while working in a restaurant/resort. He combined his passion for cooking and nutrition by earning an Associate’s Degree in Culinary Arts and a Bachelor’s Degree in Culinary Nutrition, both from Johnson & Wales University, in Providence, Rhode Island.
He then earned a Master of Public Health, with a concentration in Community Nutrition, and completed The Dietetic Internship Program, both at Benedictine University, in Lisle, IL. Eric’s extensive culinary arts training, includes: working at resorts, fine catering, disease specific food production, and even overseas in Ireland as a pastry chef.
Besides owning and running Sharing Nutrition, Eric Currently works full time as the Registered Dietitian for The Stram Center for Integrative Medicine, in Delmar, NY. Eric also is a clinical nutrition specialist consultant at Block Medical Center for Integrative Cancer Treatment in Skokie, IL. Eric further promotes the benefits of a plant based diet by being a Nutrition Advisor for The Vegetarian Resource Group. In the recent past Eric conducted cooking classes and nutrition education as a Food for Life Instructor for The Cancer Project. Eric is also the President of The Albany Vegan Network, a non-profit located in Albany, NY which embraces and promotes all aspects of veganism.
